Floor care & maintenance

Carpet
  • Vacuum at least once a week!
  • Clean spots and spills immediately
  • Blot up liquid spills with a cloth. Never rub, scrub, or use a brush. This may damage the carpet fibers. Use cleaning agents appropriate for the type of stain being removed. Apply all cleaning agents to the cloth rather than directly to the stained area to avoid saturating the carpet when spot cleaning. The deep stains may require steam cleaning your carpet. Steam cleaning your carpet will remove the soil and dirt build-up and renew the carpet fibers. Roller chairs are not recommended unless there is a chair pad.

Vinyl

Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit and sand. Wash your floors with the recommended floor cleaner. Wipe up spills immediately, to avoid any possible staining. Never use abrasive cleaners, soaps, paste wax, or solvents on your vinyl floor. Place mats at outdoor entrances to keep sand and grit from being tracked on to your floor. Place felt pads on the bottom of furniture especially kitchen chairs. Roller chairs are not recommended.

  • Do not use buffing machines.
  • Use protective mats at the entry and exits to help collect the dirt and moisture. Use floor protectors or glides under furniture legs. Roller chairs are not recommended.

  • Door mats at entrances will help keep grit and moisture from being tracked in. Regularly sweep or vacuum your cork floor and only clean your floor with the recommended cleaner.
